ED DODD - CARTOONIST

As evidenced by various illustrations in the FEATHER CRAFT boat catalogs and brochures, it appears that the cartoonist Ed Dodd was their primary advertisement illustrator.  Ed Dodd was the well known illustrator/cartoonist who originated the character and adventure cartoon strip "Mark Trail" in 1946.  It appeared for many years (and still does) in newspapers and magazines throughout the country.  This comic-strip has taught people to preserve our natural resources, woods, water and wildlife, for future generations.  Ed was a local GA (Sandy Springs) boy (Nov. 7, 1902 - May 27, 1991).  There is a Ed Dodd/Mark Trail Foundation located in Gainsville, GA.
